Gravity Currents
This project is a group of studies investigating the hydrodynamic of gravity currents in different ambient and their influence on environmental conditions. A gravity current commonly is a horizontal flow generated by the density difference between the gravity current and the ambient fluid, which is suceptible to influence secondary flows. Gravity current is an important phenomenon that occurs in nature and appears as ocean currents, cold fronts, turbidity currents, and avalanches.
Gravity currents may also be generated by anthropic activities, such as oils spillage, the spread of gas in the atmosphere, and the pollutant discharge in water bodies.
